SOCIALLY VULNERABLE GROUPS
Social inclusion and social cohesion are prerequisites for the achievement of the objectives of economic growth, employment and social justice.
Employment Guidelines are aiming at strengthening and reinforcing social inclusion, fighting poverty, preventing exclusion from labour market, supporting integration in employment of people at a disadvantage and reducing regional disparities in terms of employment, unemployment and labour productivity.
In this context, the Operational Programme “HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT 2007- 2 013” aims at enhancing social cohesion by incorporating the principles of non-discrimination and accessibility for the disabled to such an extend that ensures equal access into the labour market for all disadvantaged groups in order to prevent incidents of marginalization and exclusion.

The activities of the Operational Programme “HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT 2007 - 2013” are implemented by the co-finance of the European Social Fund, which supports the sustainable integration of the disadvantaged and of people with disabilities into the workforce by

Counselling and training that is adapted to the specific needs of disadvantaged and disabled people

Providing pathways for integration and entry into employment and job creation for disadvantaged and disabled people in the social economy

Supporting the entrepreneurship of disadvantaged and disabled people
-
Increasing the participation of migrants in employment and thereby strengthen their social integration.
For the time being, the ESF Actions Implementation Authority is responsible for the implementation of the following co-financed actions:

"Greek language courses in accredited Vocational Training Centers for the unemployed Greek-born foreign nationals, migrants, refugees, and other socially vulnerable groups hindered in their social integration by insufficient knowledge of the Greek language, in 8 Convergence Regions, in the 3 Phasing Out Regions, in the 2 Phasing In Regions"

"Interventions for socially vulnerable groups in certified Vocational Training Centres and Specialised Centres for the Social and Vocational Integration of People with Disabilities and former substance users or people in rehabilitation, in 8 Convergence Regions, in the 3 Phasing Out Regions, in the 2 Phasing In Regions"
